Despite the seemingly asymetrical nature of our life sometimes, we truly came "full circle" this year. Roque had to go to Salvador, Bahia for work and we all had a chance to visit Cachoeira and Sao Felix where our little nugget Alex was conceived. Alex had his first plane ride (he slept through it), first road trip (with UVA faculty and students), first samba concert, first rodizio (Brazilian BBQ), and first taste of agua de coco (coconut water).
Of course no visit to Salvador would be complete without returning to the church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim and giving thanks for my wish from last year coming true--ALEX!
