Alex and I went to Ciboure/St. Jean de Luz for a Basque weekend with lots of good friends. The first night Alex was excited about sleeping with his friend Olaia. After hearing a bedtime story from Brice, however, the excitement turned to fear and he quickly came running to my bed.
Despite the cloudy skies, we had a great time at the beach with Amaia, Irati and Olaia.Later that night, more friends arrived from Bilbao and Alex woke up to a house full of friends to play with.
We went to our first rugby match. Alex was actually more interested in taking Irati for a walk (he didn't let go of the stroller all weekend), but was definitely thrilled to take a picture with rugby star Adur. After the match, we went to Irun to pick up Maite and Aiala who also came from Bilbao and had a fantastic lunch in a bar by the beach and took a wondeful stroll along the boardwalk.
It was great to have the young and old kids together.
On Sunday morning I took Alex, Olaia and Hisse on a walk to a market and we stopped in a local bar for some refreshment.
Before we knew it, everyone else had arrived, including Ramon who drove up from Bilbao.
Can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday morning or a long weekend. Eskerrik asko, my dear friends.
