Our little town of Ferney Voltaire celebrates Monsieur Voltaire with a passion in June. The school kids made banners and then paraded them down from Voltaire's residence to the town park to kick off the festivities. It's pretty cool that Alex gets to mix everyday activities in such a historical setting. Even if he doesn't really get it now, hopefully when he's studying French philosophers in college he can say "when I was five I hung out at Voltaire's chateau in France".
No activity in the park is complete without a dizzying whirl on the merry-go-round. When the fun got a bit rough, Alex just moved to the center and got wedged in tight.
