We went to Chamonix today. It was almost a Disney-like experience with too many cool rides to choose from. We finally settled on the train to Montenvers and the Mer de Glace, the most important glacier in France. It actually moves a centimeter an hour!
After arriving at the top (1,913 m or 6,276 ft), we took a gondola down to the stairs to descend into the ice cave carved out of the glacier.
The ice cave was just amazing--you actually walk inside and touch the walls and see the brilliant colors of ice.
What better way to end the day than with sticky cotton candy in Chamonix?
