Today was a holiday at work so Alex got to play hookey from school and we took the train to Bern to have lunch with our friends Petra, Stefan, Ladina and Hanna. The two-hour trip from Geneva to Bern was pleasant and relaxing.
Had a great curry lunch and playtime with the five girls.
Bern was festive and we stopped at the Christmas market for hot spiced wine and strolled back to the train station and hopped on the next train headed to Geneva.
We then discovered the most brilliant invention ever--an entire train car for families, including a playground with a slide and other park-like equipment. The two-hour trip just flew by and while Alex had fun playing, we were treated to lovely mountain views, particularly as the sun set over Lake Geneva.
